Activity Overview
This webinar will provide the nurse practitioner with an evidence-based overview regarding the management of psoriasis patients. Areas that will be discussed include comorbidities associated with psoriasis and how to screen patients; implementing methods for creating therapeutic patient-provider communication; assessing current and emerging clinical safety efficacy data; and will examine the importance of patient education in enhancing treatment compliance.

Educational Objectives
At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Describe how to screen patients for comorbidities associated with psoriasis
  • Explain how to implement effective methods for improving patient-provider communication and incorporating patient-specific factors to help patients with psoriasis adhere to prescribed therapy
  • Assess clinical efficacy and safety data of current and emerging psoriasis therapies in order to provide optimal treatment
  • Design individualized treatment strategies for psoriasis patients based on evidence-based guidelines, safety and efficacy of pharmacologic treatment options, disease severity, and patient quality of life (QoL) factors
  • Examine the importance of patient education and awareness in improving treatment outcomes
