Dr. Stroup is Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a Co-Principal Investigator of the schizophrenia trial of the NIMH Clinical Antipsychotic Trials of Intervention Effectiveness (CATIE) program and is an attending psychiatrist in the UNC Hospitals Schizophrenia Treatment and Evaluation Program. Dr. Stroup is a co-editor of the new Textbook of Schizophrenia published by the American Psychiatric Press, Inc.

Dr. McEvoy is currently an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (tenured) at Duke University Medical Center, and the Deputy Clinical Director of John Umstead Hospital in Butner, NC.

He received his M.D. degree at Vanderbilt University Medical School, did two years of Internal Medicine training at the University of Utah Hospital System, and completed his Psychiatry training at Vanderbilt. He is Board-certified in Psychiatry. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.

Dr. McEvoy has served on the faculty of Vanderbilt University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Duke University. He has over 90 refereed publications, primarily focusing on psychopharmacology and biological psychiatry. He has twice (1996 and 1999) edited the Expert Consensus Guidelines for the Treatment of Schizophrenia. He has served as Co-Principal Investigator and Project Medical Officer for the CATIE (Clinical Antipsychotic Trials for Intervention Effectiveness) and CAFÉ (Comparison of Atypicals for First Episode) trials, and currently continues in a similar role in the NIMH-supported Schizophrenia Trials Network.

The Duke Psychiatry residents have twice (1999 and 2002) selected Dr McEvoy for their Honored Teacher Award.

Dr. Citrome is Director of the Clinical Research and Evaluation Facility at the Nathan S. Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research in Orangeburg, New York, and Professor of Psychiatry at the New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Citrome is involved as Principal Investigator, Co-Investigator, and Collaborator on a number of ongoing projects centering on psychopharmaceutical approaches to schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, including new and novel medications, management of treatment refractory schizophrenia, and the management of aggressive and violent behavior. He is also an active member of the Medication Utilization and Outcomes Research Program that focuses on the practice of psychiatry within the 16 hospitals operated by the New York State Office of Mental Health. He is the author or co-author of over 200 research reports, reviews, and abstracts in the scientific literature, and has lectured extensively throughout the USA, Canada, Europe, and Asia.
