Glenn Eisen, MD, MPH

Dr. Eisen graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York in 1987. His residency in Internal Medicine was completed at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York in 1991 where he was Chief Resident the last year. He completed two fellowships; one in Gastroenterology at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina and the second in Gastrointestinal Epidemiology at UNC-Chapel Hill, North Carolina. His clinical interests are gastroesophageal reflux/Barrett`s esophagus, colon cancer screening, pancreaticobiliary disorders, ERCP, inflammatory bowel disease, capsule endoscopy. Dr. Eisen`s research interests include Barrett`s esophagus, screening/surveillance for gastrointestinal malignancies, patient-centered outcomes and evidence-based medicine.

Prateek Sharma, MD, is Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and Director of the Fellowship Training Program and Clinical Research, at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and the VA Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri, USA. He received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from the University of Baroda, India, completed his internal medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Dr. Sharma's research has focused on upper gastrointestinal diseases, including Barrett's esophagus, esophageal cancer, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. He has published more than 60 pieces, including original articles and book chapters related to these topics, and has presented at major national and international meetings. He recently co-edited the book, Barrett's Esophagus & Esophageal Adenocarcinoma. He serves as a reviewer for major medical and gastroenterology subspecialty journals, including Alimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics, American Journal of Gastroenterology, Annals of Internal Medecine, Digestive and Liver Disease, European Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Gastroenterology, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and Gut.

Dr. Sharma is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American College of Physicians. In 2000, he received the ACG Governors Award for Excellence in Clinical Research. Dr. Sharma is also a recent recipient of a Career Development Award from the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), and the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) Castell Esophagus Clinical Research Award.

Terry Ann Glauser, MD, MPH, is a freelance medical consultant and writer with extensive experience in creating and reviewing both CME accredited and nonaccredited medical education materials. Dr. Glauser has written scripts for educational videos, CD-ROMs, and websites, and has been the managing editor of three educational websites. She also has print experience, having authored articles for peer-reviewed medical journals, monographs, and slide kits. She is currently a member of the editorial board of the American Journal of Medical Quality and an independent medical reviewer for numerous CME programs.

Dr. Glauser attended Jefferson Medical College, receiving her medical degree in 1981. She completed a residency in Emergency Medicine and practiced until 1993, when she matriculated at Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health.  She began her medical writing career shortly after receiving her master’s degree in Public Health in 1995.
